The volumes are literally Stape’s own tiers (500K / 5M / 20M), so the comparison is one line instead of a calculation.

Excluding VAT, on both sides. Stape’s amounts were read off their own pricing page on 20 August 2026, with the currency selector on euros and the switch on Monthly. Nothing converted: Stape Europe invoices in euros itself and adds VAT on top, just as we do.

These are the monthly prices. On annual billing Stape gives twenty percent off and we give you two months free. That leaves the ratio between the two columns almost unchanged.

The table starts at 500K. Well below that? Then Stape, with its free tier of up to 10,000 requests, is cheaper — that is simply true.

What you probably want to know.

What happens if I go over the limit?
At 80% and at 100% of your limit you get an email. Above 110% your measurement address closes: requests are refused from then on, and those measurements are lost. That ten percent of headroom is there so you can act on the warning without anything going wrong. Nothing is billed afterwards — there is no per-request invoice. If you need more room, you move to the next plan.
What exactly counts towards the number of requests?
Every request to your measurement address: events, the gtm.js, previews and health checks. We deliberately do not count events alone, because this is the number your server actually runs on — and the number you see back in your traffic log.
Are the amounts including or excluding VAT?
All prices on this page are excluding VAT. The rate is listed separately on the invoice. With a valid VAT number outside the Netherlands, VAT is reverse-charged.
How does the trial work?
Fourteen days per measurement server, with no card up front. During those two weeks you get the full monthly allowance of Starter — 500K requests, not pro-rated. Until something is paid for, you can have at most three measurement servers at a time.
Can I cancel monthly?
Yes. On monthly billing you cancel per month. On yearly billing the subscription runs to the end of the year you paid for and then stops — no silent renewal to work around.
Does a second measurement server cost extra?
Yes. The price is per measurement server: every site or client with its own subdomain is its own server on its own plan. They share one invoice, and an account has one billing interval — if you pay yearly, a new measurement server goes yearly too, pro-rated to your existing renewal date.
How many users does the limit cover?
The user limit applies per account, while the plan sits on the measurement server. With several servers on different plans, the highest one counts. Invitations are refused as soon as there is no room left, rather than at the moment someone accepts.
Does the agency pay, or the client?
With agencies the account is in the client’s name, and the client pays. There is no agency discount and no margin in between — your client pays the price listed here. More about that on For agencies.
